Buxton v Chorley (preview)


This Saturday  the magpies will  make the trip to Derbyshire as they face Buxton in the Evo-stik premier division.

Buxton sit 20th in the league on 23 points just  5 points off the safety  Their league results so far read 3-2 lose to Nortwhich on the opening day, then a 3-2 lose to Hednesford, then a 1-0 lose at Chorley, then 2-1 lose to Rushall, before FC United thumped them 4-0, they got their first win of the season in the last game of the month with a 1-0 win against Stocksbridge, Setpember started with a 4-3 win at home to Nantwhich, Worksop then  beat Buxton  2-1, then they beat North Ferriby 4-1, then Marine beat them 4-0, then a 2-0 lose to Mickleover, before ending the month with a 4-2 lose to Ashton United, October started with a 0-0 draw against Kendal, then a 1-1 with Chester, then a 1-0 lose to Marine before ending the month with a 2-2 draw with Burscough, November started with 1-1 draw with Frickley, then a 3-1 lose to Hednesford, then a 0-0 draw with Chasetown, then a 3-1 lose to Worksop, before ending the month with a 0-0 draw with Nantwhich, December started with a 3-1§ lost North Ferriby, then a 4-3 win over Whitby, before ending the year with a 1-1 draw at Matlock, the new year started with a 4-1 lose to Stocksbridge, then a 1-1 draw with Northwhich. 


There are no ex magpies in the Buxton team and there are no ex Bucks players  in the Chorley squad.

The last time the magpies played Buxton was back in August . The magpies were 1-0 winners with a goal from Foster via the spot.
The team that day was Saunders, Willams, Ince, Teauge, Russell, Whitham, Rosoce, McEvilly, Foster and Payne.
Subs were Maden, Walker (on for Payne), Whaley (on for McEvilly), Fairhurst and Howarth
Everyone but Payne, McEvilly, Fairhurst, Howarth and Whaley are still at Chorley.

Steve Foster will be looking to continue his spell as the leagues leading marks men with some more goal and three points for the magpies along with strike partner Chris Denham who is starting to come to form. While  the key man for the host will be Kieran Lugsden, he has been key to Buxton fight against the drop.
